16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is a global campaign which runs every year from 25 November (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day).
VACCA is proud to support the 16 Days of Activism campaign.
For 47 years, VACCA has supported Aboriginal women, children and families experiencing family violence and provided opportunities for those using violence to change.
Aboriginal people, especially women and children, are disproportionately affected by family violence, and face unique barriers to accessing family violence supports.
VACCA provides a range of culturally safe programs and services from individual and family holistic therapeutic services to individual case management. We use Cultural Therapeutic Ways, our practice framework combining cultural practice with trauma-informed and self-determination theories, to support healing.
To improve the understand of family violence in the Aboriginal community, we have created a series of resources that are designed to raise awareness and support sector professionals and individuals.
Join us in supporting the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign.
