Shanae and Kiara want to share their special Christmas with you

Thanks to kind support from our generous donors throughout our Christmas Appeal, Shanae and Kiara had a truly special Christmas with their mum Mel. For the first time in many years, they were all under the same roof together. You should’ve seen their faces when they woke up and saw presents under the tree with their names on them. Shanae received her first ever Barbie Doll which she loves and Kiara received a puzzle she was so excited to start. The family also had a special Christmas lunch together. Now, Mel can continue getting the support she needs to give her daughters a safe, stable home and grow their connection to family, community and culture.

Together with support from people like you, we were able to bring together over 2000 families at our VACCA Christmas parties in December. For many, these are a true highlight of the year. Extended families from all across Australia came together to connect, celebrate culture and reunite with loved ones.

Here are some highlights from our Christmas parties:

  • 2352 children and families attended and celebrated together
  • Over 3000 gifts given out to Aboriginal children in care
  • Over 600 Food hampers distributed to families in need

The children and families that VACCA supports across our 80 programs need support all year round, not just at Christmas. We are grateful to have you walking alongside us to ensure we can provide holistic support for the most vulnerable Aboriginal children and families across Victoria.
