Lakidjeka Aboriginal Child Specialist Advice and Support Service (ACSASS) provides specialist advice and case consultation to the Victorian Child Protection Service.

The role of the program is to provide culturally appropriate guidance and support to inform the respectful engagement of families, risk and other assessments, planning, monitoring and reviews undertaken by child protection. This might include: 

  • culturally appropriate interventions
  • significant child protection decisions
  • culturally appropriate referral services.

The Lakidjeka team also offer involvement in all aspects of casework for Aboriginal children - from home visits through to court and case planning and case closure.
