Our Koorie Diversion programs support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and men from having further contact with the justice system and create a path towards independent living.
Who is it for?
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and men aged 18 years and over.
- Currently or at risk of being in contact with the justice system.
- Living in the northern Melbourne metropolitan area.
How it works
- The Koorie Diversion program provides intensive, culturally appropriate case management, including case planning and review, for up to 12 months.
- We can support, or provide referrals to services, in the areas of:
- community and cultural connection
- navigating the justice system
- housing
- health
- training and employment
- family violence
- financial
- legal.
- We seek to minimise entering or re-entering the criminal justice system.
- We find ways to empower community towards strength and independence.
