Our Aboriginal Sexual Assault Healing program helps Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have experienced sexual abuse and are looking for a culturally grounded approach that supports their healing.
Who is it for?
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community who have experienced sexual assault or abuse (including other family members as well).
- Live near VACCA’s Southern or Western Offices (see contact details below).
How it works
- There’s flexibility in our approach; we can do one-on-one or group family sessions.
- It begins with an Aboriginal Cultural Healer who creates a safe space to allow our Sexual Assault Therapist to continue with the counselling work.
- Working together, we provide links with local Elders, community organisations and other VACCA programs where needed.
- Our goal is to heal traumas and build self-confidence.
