This study protocol describes the implementation and evaluation of Healing the Past by Nurturing the Future, an Aboriginal-led program designed to improve support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families experiencing complex trauma during the pregnancy and early parenthood. It outlines a trauma-aware, healing-informed model that includes workforce training for service providers, resources for parents, organisational readiness assessment tools, referral systems, and culturally safe approaches to recognising and responding to trauma.
