About this journal article:
This article examines how the child and family welfare system has been shaped by colonisation in ways that continue to impact Indigenous children and families. It describes VACCA’s push for an Indigenous-led approach focused on prevention, early intervention, and human rights, and highlights the importance of self-determination in restoring children’s circles of care.
