About this evaluation:
This report presents findings from an evaluation of three Aboriginal-led child protection diversion trials (pilots) – Aboriginal Led Case Conferencing (ALCC) run by VACCA, Garinga Bupup program run by Bendigo and District Aboriginal Co-operative (BDAC), and Aboriginal Family Led Decision Making (AFLDM) run by Goolum Goolum Aboriginal Cooperative and Njernda Aboriginal Corporation. The trails were designed to keep Aboriginal children safe and connected to culture, while diverting families away from statutory child protection. The evaluation explored how the trials worked in practice, what they achieved, and what could be strengthened.
