About this journal article:
This article outlines the development of Bringing Up Aboriginal Babies at Home (BUABAH), an Aboriginal-led response to the high rate of Aboriginal infant removals in Victoria. It looks at how the current child protection system can lead to preventable infant removals, and describes a new model designed to reduce the number of Aboriginal babies entering statutory care by strengthening support for mothers and building trust and collaboration with families.
