The Koorie Tiddas Youth Choir at White Night

Our Koorie Tiddas Youth Choir were buzzing with excitement (and a few nerves) last Saturday before their performance at Melbourne Museum for White Night.

This was just their second performance as a group, singing at three different locations inside the museum beginning in the foyer of the museum and leading White Night patrons through the Science and Life Gallery, with a finale in Bunjilaka. The girls performed beautifully – And had a lot of fun doing it!

The VACCA Koorie Tiddas Youth Choir is a choir offering opportunities for Aboriginal girls and young women to participate in positive, fulfilling and creative after-school activities, under the musical direction of singer songwriter Monica Weightman.

The choir is led by the young girls, Aboriginal musicians and Elders, and works to build self-esteem, confidence, resilience and sense of identity through connection to Aboriginal culture and local community, learning traditional language, acquiring music skills and performing their own songs.
