To mark National Sorry Day, City of Yarra is streaming a very special event from the Stolen Generations Marker in Atherton Gardens Housing Estate in Fitzroy.

The event will feature:

  • A Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony with Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Elder Uncle Colin Hunter
  • Performance by Djirri Djirri Dancers
  • Music from Kokatha-Gunditjmara man Uncle Dave Arden

Special guest speakers:

  • Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung Elder Aunty Muriel Bamblett
  • Boonwurrung, Yorta Yorta, Mutti Mutti Elder Aunty Eva Jo
  • Yuin, Woromi man Kyle Vander-Kuyp

 Music from Kokatha-Gunditjmara man Uncle Dave Arden.

The event will be held at the Stolen Generations Marker in Atherton Gardens. The Marker, titled 'Remember Me: A Tribute to the Stolen Generations and their Families', was designed by Kamilaroi artist Reko Rennie and is a place of reflection and respectful commemoration.
