In Wurundjeri tradition, each year is split into seven seasons – September and October make up Poorneet, the tadpole season.
The Spring sun is finally here, with flowers and trees blooming across Country. Fast moving poorneets (tadpoles) dart through the ponds and the bulin bulin (lyrebirds) begin their mating dances. It continues to rain while the temperature climbs. The murnong (yam daisy) tubers are ready for eating as pied currawongs and magpies fill the air with song.
