Link-Up Victoria supports Stolen Generations survivors and their families. Link-Up focuses on healing by helping our people to reclaim their Aboriginal identity and to connect to family and learn about their traditional culture and Country. Link-Up runs group activities and events, and produces resources to promote the stories of the Stolen Generations.

Who is it for?

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were adopted or fostered, who live in Victoria or Tasmania.
  • Aboriginal people looking for family who were adopted or fostered.

How it works

  • Accessing records: We assist our people to apply for adoption and fostering records and other documents about their own or family members’ removal.
  • Official documents: We apply for birth, death, and marriage certificates plus can locate historical records, including photographs and other documents about family connections.
  • Health and Wellbeing plans: We work with clients to create a safety plan so that we can fully support you.
  • Family and culture: We undertake Aboriginal family research to locate family both living and passed to strengthen knowledge about Aboriginal connections and to inform reunions.
  • Reunions: We conduct reunions on traditional country of Stolen Generations survivors that provide powerful healing.
