VACCA is committed to ensuring our organisation and services are safe, inclusive and welcoming for LGBTIQA+ staff, young people, carers, families and community.

In November 2021, this commitment was affirmed when VACCA obtained accreditation under the Rainbow Tick Standards. Accreditation provides assurance to service users and staff that VACCA is a safe and inclusive organisation for LGBTIQA+ people and establishes a clear framework for continuous improvement initiatives.

LGBTIQA+ areas of focus include:

  • Celebrating the LGBTIQA+ community
  • Providing LGBTIQA+ specific Learning & Development opportunities for VACCA staff
  • Developing culturally appropriate and inclusive resources to strengthen VACCA’s work alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTIQA+ people
  • Ensuring a safe and inclusive workplace environment for LGBTIQA+ staff

You can find out more about Rainbow Tick Standards and Accreditation here.
