VACCA is proud to announce our partnership with Aboriginal Housing Victoria to deliver Aboriginal Community Home Connect, a new program which provides advice and support to Victorian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tenants living in social housing.
Support and Social Connection
Aboriginal Community Home Connect offers free fortnightly telephone yarns to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in social housing to provide health, education and housing support and resources.
The voluntary program also offers tenants a social connection, helping to strengthen links to community which have been impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Through Aboriginal Community Home Connect, service users will be able to:
- Access immediate support, assistance, and service referrals
- Connect to community and have a confidential yarn
- Build cultural strength and resilience
Program Ambassador and proud Noongar man and AFL footballer Marlion Pickett says, "I’m proud to be part of a program that will provide long-lasting support and strengthen our community."
